Wayside cottage is a charming 19th Century, stone built property, which has been tastefully renovated to a very high standard. Situated two miles west of Pickering, it nestles at the foot of the North Yorkshire Moors, making it an ideal base for any type of holiday.
The compact village of Wrelton is by-passed by the main road (A 170) from Helmsley to Pickering. During the 1st century AD, a Roman road must have been built near here, leading to the Cawthorn Roman Camps which are located just over two miles to the north-east of the village. The earthworks of these camps have survived and are open to the public.
